If you love your almond milk and don’t want to give it up or pay the inflated supermarket prices, try this homemade raw recipe, and make nutritious almond milk that is easier on your wallet and kind to your body!
- almonds - 1 cup, soaked overnight (8-12 hours)
- water - 3 cups
- dates - 3-5 pieces, pitted
- salt - pinch of
Rinse soaked almonds and place in high-speed blender. Add water, dates, pinch of salt and blend for 1-2 minutes until smooth. Use the nut-milk bag, strain the almond milk to separate the gritty almond pulp (use any cloth, but nut-milk bag is the easier way to do it).
Place the milk in a bottle with a tight-fitting seal, the milk will keep its freshness for 5-7 days in the fridge.
Note: These ingredients make 750 ml of almond milk. You can use the leftover grain as almond flour if you wish (just give it time to dry).
